You need to know your limiting is it physical eg. legs muscles and tendons. Or is it cardio vascular are you panting and out of breath when running 8m miles?

If its physical try running up steady inclines, not steep but steady. If you use a treadmill a 2% incline is good. Your legs will get stronger and when running on a flat you will be faster.

If its cardio then you need to build cardio fitness, this means 40mins of cardio workout 3/4 times a week.
